Emergency is our middle name. It's all we do, so we do it best.
About us
Veterinary Emergency Group, VEG, takes a radically different approach to veterinary emergency medicine. We’ve transformed the ER experience so it works for people and their pets, from our fully open and immersive hospital environment, to our emergency-focused team, to our customer-centered approach to care. Come to our hospitals and you’ll see how we’re different: patients see a doctor right away, even before filling out paperwork; our open plan hospitals ensure that customers feel connected to their pets’ care; and owners can stay with their pets through all stages of treatment. We also find a way to say YES. A customer wants to stay overnight with their pet? YES! A worried owner wants to watch their pet’s surgery? Absolutely! We also say yes through our philanthropy, VEG Cares, which makes life-saving care possible for pets in need in our local VEG communities. Through donations from families, fundraisers, and partners, VEG doctors and nurses are empowered to make the best decision possible about each patient’s care and say yes to treatment that could save their lives. Not only have we revolutionized the veterinary emergency experience for people and their pets, but we’ve also transformed it for everyone who works here—our VEGgies! Since we handle every kind of pet emergency, from vomiting to complex surgeries, our VEGgies have the opportunity to treat many different types of cases. And since our hospitals are open, customers can hear every patient assessment and diagnosis, see how we care for each patient, and watch every heroic act as it happens. Working here is more than a job—it’s a long-term fulfilling career where you feel supported, both at VEG and in your life outside of work. At our 40+ locations nationwide—and growing—we’re there if you want to build a fulfilling career in veterinary emergency medicine, and above all, we’re here to help people and their pets when they need it most.

Bella's journey today was a little ruff, but she's bouncing back stronger than ever! 💪🐾 After a surprise encounter with a cat left her with a laceration, our brave little trooper came through her repair with all the fluff and none of the fuss. Here she is, all smiles and wagging tail, ready to head home. Stay strong, Bella, you've got this! ❤️🩹 📍VEG Fort Worth #vegolution #pethospital #dogs #cats #veterinarymedicine

We're glad to see the FTC agrees #NonCompetesSuck. 👏 We trust and respect our VEGgies, and that's why we've never required them to sign non-compete agreements. We want people to feel empowered to pursue their passions and career goals without fear of overly restrictive contracts. ❤️ Viva la #VEGolution! #NoNonCompetesEver
❌We’ve canceled non-competes for all our VEGgies.❌ Yes, you heard right. We got rid of non-competes because it is the right thing to do and the most in line with our Vision and Core Values. We eliminate legacy barriers that don’t make sense, that our stakeholders don’t want, and that we think are unfair. We tore down the exam room and waiting room walls. Then we tore down non-competes. Openness is a core value at VEG. We believe an open world is a better world. Being able to work where you want is the natural and open state, just as being able to stay by your pet’s side is the natural and open state. We owe this to our employees (AKA VEGgies) to fulfill our vision that VEG is the best place to work if you’re interested in a long-term career in veterinary emergency medicine. We don’t really know how we started to add non-competes to our doctor contracts in the first place. Maybe it was because everyone had them? We don’t want to restrict any doctor that wants to work for another ER. We know we’re not a perfect fit for everyone. We view eliminating doctor non-competes at VEG, and hopefully across the industry, as critical to their well-being. We simply can’t take a stand for well-being and restrict our VEGgies from making a living wherever they want. This is the #VEGolution. We shake up the veterinary industry and live our values. ❤️🐾 #nononcompetesever #noncompetessuck

Paws before a relaxing weekend. ❤️🐾 Sunday's reading material: www.veg.com/blog. We have care, health, and safety blogs about every kind of pet. Given the season we recommend brushing up on common pet allergies, poisonous plants, and hiking tips. 🤓

Who says emotional support friends can't be big and moo-velous? 😂 Introducing Kevin, quite possibly the cuddliest baby cow you'll ever meet! He had all of us wishing we could take him home that day. A good ol' cow cuddle really does wonders for the soul! 🐮❤️ #vegolution #pethospital #cow #baby
